Recommendations for use
For acne prevention, the drug is taken orally in a dosage of 500mg per day before or after meals. For severe acne problems, the daily dosage can be increased to 1000mg or 2000mg.
The duration of use should be until symptoms subside up to a maximum of 10 days at a time.
Azithromycin may cause side effects such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, occasional flatulence and vomiting, heightened liver enzymes, or a very rare side effect is a skin rash.
