Zovirax (acyclovir) Cream, 5% is a herpes simplex virus (HSV) nucleoside analogue DNA polymerase inhibitor that is used to treat recurrent herpes labialis (cold sores) in immunocompetent adults and adolescents 12 years and older.
Effect of Generic Zovirax
This product is used to treat “cold sores/fever blisters” (herpes labialis).
It has the ability to accelerate the healing of the sores and reduce the symptoms such as:

- Pain.
- Burning.
- Itching.
Acyclovir is an anti-viral that stops the growth of the virus.

Using Zovirax Cream

Rub it into the affected area gently 5 times a day (every 3 – 4 hours) over the course of 4 days to treat cold sores and make sure to cover the entire affected area.
This product is only for use on the skin. Do not apply this medication in the eyes, nose, mouth, or inside the vagina.
