Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a protein (or peptide) hormone. The main purpose of hCG is either to treat female infertility or to use to stimulate or increase endogenous testosterone production in men. HCG is generally well tolerated by most men who use it for hormonal recovery after stopping the anabolic steroid cycle. This vital protective compound can prevent the testes from completely shutting down while using AAS. If this preventative measure is not taken, the natural testosterone production may be suppressed forever.
Use in bodybuilding
Chorionic Gonadotropin is actively used by athletes taking testosterone. The main purpose of the intake is the prevention of testicular atrophy. Gonadotropin is often used together with other drugs of post-cycle therapy (Clomid and Anastrozole).
With its proper use, this Gonadotropin eliminates the side effects of some anabolic steroids and helps to maintain muscle mass during the drying process. Therefore, on the cycle of steroids, it will be simply irreplaceable. It helps to prevent the loss of functionality of the hypothalamus and pituitary gland also, thus improving the functioning of the entire reproductive system.
Basic dosages
With HCG in combination with Tribulus after the cycle, excellent results can be achieved. Thus, it is possible to restore the level of your own testosterone much faster and save as much muscle mass and strength as possible after a cycle of AAS is complete.
The duration of action is approximately 5 or 6 days, it is recommended to inject gonadotropin intramuscularly, because it resolves quite quickly. Below is a brief instruction for use, which directly depends on the total duration of the cycle of steroids:
Short cycle – If anabolics are taken for less than 5 weeks, there is no need for hCG.
Long–term cycle with excessive dosages – When anabolic steroids are used for a long time and in large doses, injections of hCG are necessary. Injections are done twice a week at a dosage of 250 to 500IU. You can also do this after the cycle at a dose of 2,000IU, every other day for a total of three weeks.
Permanent cycle – Some professional athletes stick to a “permanent” cycle of taking anabolic steroids. In such cases, it is recommended to use Gonadotropin on an ongoing basis. It is necessary to do this for 5 weeks with a mandatory break of 1-2 weeks.
HCG side effects
There are only two side effects of hCG to note that everyone should be aware of before using it, especially since there are many misconceptions about hCG since its introduction into the world of anabolic steroid use.
Estrogenic side effects – HCG will increase testicular aromatase activity, which can lead to estrogen side effects due to an increase in estrogen caused by aromatization (conversion) of androgens to estrogen. Therefore, the use of an aromatase inhibitor (AI) during hCG use has been recommended, the most appropriate AI for this purpose is Aromasin (Exemestane). Estrogenic side effects:
Water retention and abdominal bloating, increased blood pressure (as a result of water retention), increased possible fat gain, and gynecomastia.
Androgenic side effects – Androgenic side effects are part of the side effects of hCG because they will increase circulating plasma androgen levels, especially testosterone and then dihydrotestosterone. This is the naturally expected and desired effect of using hCG. Other androgenic side effects include increased sebum secretion (oily skin), increased attacks of acne (associated with increased sebum secretion), increased hair growth on the body and face, benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), and increased risk of male pattern baldness in those with a genetic predisposition.
